Progression From Low Pay

The Progression From Low Pay (PFLP) project supported employed individuals with low earnings who worked in sectors across the Leeds City Region and typically had a low skilled workforce.

As part of PFLP, WYCC supported programmes of training with up to a 40% cost contribution (funded by the European Social Fund) that facilitated progression through skills support in order to increase earning potential and increase social mobility.

Project Impact

• Increased skill levels to encourage job progression
• Greater earning potential for more low paid workers
• Addressed the gender employment and wage gap
• Increase in the number of people with technical and job-specific skills
• Addressed barriers to training
• Collaborated to create better jobs, tackle low pay and boost productivity through skills
