Ian Billyard, Principal of Leeds College of Building, has been appointed Chair for WYCC.
Ian brings a wealth of further education experience to the Consortium and is an active member of various education and skills groups both locally and nationally.
Speaking about his appointment, Ian said:
“I am delighted to be Chairing the Consortium at a time when we are poised to be responsive and perform to the fullest in order to address the skills challenges facing the region. ”
Louise Tearle, Partnership Director for WYCC & Leeds City Region Skills Network added:
“Ian’s appointment as Chair comes at an exciting time for the Consortium since the signing of the Joint Venture agreement between all the FE Colleges in West Yorkshire. Ian’s long standing history as FE Principal at Leeds College of Building and strong leadership skills leave him well-placed to take on the role leading the Consortium through the next phase of achievements.”
Ian takes over the role from Peter McCann, Kirklees College Principal who will retire later this year.
