Customer service training boosts social housing organisation in Bradford

A fully funded training programme delivered as part of the West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges’ Collaborative Apprenticeships project has brought insight and skills to apprentices at a social housing organisation in Shipley.

Danny Halligan, Apprentice and Skills Officer at Incommunities encouraged apprentices at the company to sign up for Shipley College’s Customer Service course.

He said, “They all enjoyed the course and took on board the value of engaging with customers.

“From an Incommunities perspective, the training is relevant and gives a greater insight to be more customer focused.

“The funded training helps develop our apprentices whilst also working on an equivalent qualification and adds to their CV and portfolio.”

Collaborative Apprenticeships offers fully funded training for current apprentices, those considering an apprenticeship and those who would like to, or already do, take on apprentices in their business.

The overall aim of the project is to increase the number of apprentices and enhance the apprenticeship experience in the Leeds City Region.

The project is part funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and managed by the West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges.

Shipley College is one of the colleges delivering courses under the project, including Calderdale College and Luminate Education Group. The project comes to an end in September.
