A carbon footprint is the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused by an individual, event, organisation, service, place or product, expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e).
Among other measures, WYCC has taken the following action over the last year to reduce its carbon footprint:
- 12 WYCC team members Carbon Literacy Project certified
- Four WYCC members are qualified as Carbon Literacy Facilitators (Carbon Literacy Project)
- WYCC Climate and Sustainability Pledge launch
- Embedding sustainability into event planning
- Strategic goals and direction to contribute to carbon reduction
- Car sharing to meetings if a meeting is face to face
- Requesting sustainable policies within our supply chain
- Reducing our printing by over 50%
- Recycling banner stands
- Ensuring printed materials are recyclable
